Have you ever cleaned the exterior glass of your saltwater aquarium, only to end up with frustrating smudges and streaks? Many aquarists use a damp paper towel or cloth, followed by a dry one, yet still struggle to get a spotless finish.
At my retail store, we had hundreds of aquariums to maintain, and we needed a quick, effective method to keep the glass crystal clear. The solution? A spray bottle and a squeegee—both inexpensive tools that can be found at a dollar store and kept with your aquarium supplies.
The Simple, Smudge-Free Cleaning Method

Fill a spray bottle with tap, distilled, or reverse osmosis water.

Use a fine mist setting to lightly spray one exterior panel of the aquarium.

Wipe away the water with a squeegee for a streak-free finish.

Use a paper towel or cloth to remove excess water that pools at the base.
